CNE CLINICAL TRIALS
Our team performs a range of clinical trials in acute care. Many of these are in collaboration with the New England Strategies to Innovate EmeRgENcy Care Clinical Trials Network (SIREN) Group. The SIREN Clinical Trials Team is a nationwide, collaborative effort that conducts high-quality, multi-site clinical trials to improve the outcomes for patients with a range of emergency conditions. In collaboration with partners across New England, we both lead and participate in large scale definitive phase III trials for conditions such as traumatic brain injury, cardiac arrest, and others.
THE NEW ENGLAND SIREN GROUP
SIREN: The New England SIREN group is a proud partner with the nationwide NIH-funded SIREN Clinical trials network. This network conducts high quality multicenter trials to improve outcomes for patients with a range of emergency conditions. Ongoing trials include:
- BOOST-3 – A nationwide trial of advanced brain tissue oxygen monitoring for traumatic brain injury (TBI).
- ICECAP – A nationwide trial of cooling duration after cardiac arrest.
- ESETT – a randomized trial of different treatments for status epilepticus.
SIREN has collaborators at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, UMass Memorial Health Care, and Yale-New Haven Hospital.
AVERT
AVERT: We were proud participants in the NIH-funded multicenter AVERT study of dizziness. This trial used video-oculography to study how best to diagnose dizziness in the acute setting.
